Burn Motherfucker, Burn! (2017) Reviews

  • I can't believe the racist people that are writing reviews here. Regardless, this movie will truly open your eyes.

I've only really heard about the problems black people face when dealing with the police and from a few videos of police shootings that were completely uncalled for. This gave me a much better perspective of what is actually happening. The movie was filmed as you would see on an hour long special on the history channel. It's a bit above average production. I don't generally watch these types of films but the trailer for this movie intrigued me enough and the source material is something that I feel everyone should know more about including myself. And after reading these other reviews, do you guys have family in the LAPD or something?

I thought this documentary was excellent. I watched it with my father who grew up at 118th & Central (1946). I later lived at the same address with my Grandparents. I remember the second uprising but knew little about the first. I appreciate the film maker for composing this documentary. I will not spoil, but in my opinion the late, great Mayor Tom Bradley had the best quote in this documentary. It is worth it to watch this documentary just to hear his quote.

There is little new information in this "documentary". Its just a rehash of documentaries like Stacey Peralta's "Crips and Bloods...". We get the perspective of nonstop African American victimhood in LA, which is of course enforced by the evil, racist LAPD. Its the same old woe is me narrative. Never mind the fact that the African American crime/murder is off the charts. Never mind the fact that African American thugs and gang bangers have turned these neighborhoods into war zones. Businesses are boarded up, there are no jobs for young people. Intelligent, educated young black folk leave these neighborhoods and don't look back. Policing these areas is a complete nightmare for law enforcement. This piece makes it seem like LAPD actually enjoys having to arrest young black men. Worst of all, this piece actually seems to portray the 92 LA riots as some sort of victory. This is revisionist history at its worst. Ask the poor black folk that still have to live in these third world hell holes if it was a good thing. This is the sort of one-sided drivel that Black Lives Matter and Social Justice Warriors have inspired.

A documentary on racism that is unremittingly racist is staggeringly hypocritical as well as a waste of time, money, and the goodwill of the audience. I can sum this film up in three short phrases: White bad, Black good, Asian marginal. If that is your worldview, this biased-beyond-belief, virtue signaling, race baiting piece of propaganda is for you. If you want something balanced, you'll need to talk to someone with a balanced perspective, and without a ten ton chip on their shoulder.

The documentary of the 65, 92 LA riots harbours anger while you watch over the inhumane treatment of all races. The interviews of first hand witness accounts seems biased from both sides of the coin, which makes you wonder if the lessons were learned. Racism is a tool used by both black and white for political and financial gains, is the over laying message I got from this documentary. I wouldn't recommend this one for people with high blood pressure.
