Let There Be Zombies (2014) Reviews
They' trying so hard...
... it's adorable! Think of yourself as a beginner film maker. You don't have much money. You wanna shoot a flick. Zombies, it is! Lovely cliché characters in a low budget world. Nice establishment shots color a cliché storyline filled with red herrings and checkov's guns. Dialogue is simple, has gags and is stupid. From "What was your name again?" to "It's a sign!" Anyone who has seen all available zombie movies will love this film, which is cheap but enjoyable. B-Movie nevertheless, if you have 90 minutes and love the genre, better this than Resident Evil for the x-th time. 8/10 for Trash lovers 4/10 for movie connoisseurs P.S: Oh, and there are even shock effects!
Not Worth It
The Plot Drew is a nerdy teacher that can't even control the students in her classroom. When threatened by the classroom bully, Drew does what she knows best... back down. Not even words of wisdom from the principal can muster a show of strength from a wimp who seems destined for a second-rate life. And this is before the zombie apocalypse. Along her odyssey, Drew encounters a cast of characters that both help and hamper her path to finding the strength within herself that will make or break her ability to survive these terrible new times of unending death... and her annoying new companions. Stupid plot. Poorly written. The acting is non existent. It's not even funny.
To be honest...
To be honest with you, I don't think that this movie is the freaking greatest thing that's going to Sundance or whatever. However, considering their budget is pretty cheap, and the fact that they don't have the most access to actors, it's pretty good. The plot is pretty well developed and the storyline is suspenseful. The humor is nice in the movie, too. I also think that the final few scenes where the people escape from the literal war zone they have previously encountered (messing and shooting with the zombies) is pretty good. I also think that the beginning scene, although not so funny, develops the overall mood and feeling of the movie a lot, including the dumb teacher who's gonna later shoot up zombies. Overall, it's a great budget movie who needs to be judged based on it's cheap production cost.
