Futile is resistance
Loved that line. There were a few good ones and some other good dialogue. The story had a lot of the usual things and in many ways was predictable. But there were something interesting things as well. The boots idea was simultaneously lame, kind of sweet, and unique in the way it was incorporated. The acting was good. Megan Hilty and Noah Mills had a quiet but engaging chemistry together. It was nice watching them together. Mills was not energetic, but had a definite presence. A lot of the story was about moving on without losing the heart of the past which is nothing new for Christmas movies, but it was nicely done.
Enjoyable, light hearted holiday movie.
I enjoyed this movie. I am watching a ton of Christmas movies from Lifetime, which I never knew did Christmas movies. This is a new one for the 2018 batch. The acting is all around solid by the leads and the supporting cast. The story has a few interesting twists on "successful person finds their way home" theme. Which seems to be at the heart of most of the Christmas movies. Noah Mills, whom I have never seen or heard of before, is great. He should keep doing these lighthearted romance holiday movies. Hallmark alert for a new man to add to your "stable". I like Megan Hilty in anything. I am surprised they did not give her at least one song to sing, since she is a powerhouse singer. It is fun, well done, and easy watching that keeps you interested.

So if Nick and Holly are both 35 and they both grew up in the small town, how is it that they never met each other?
Santa chairs
I was enjoying this movie, I thought it was a nice story, Until I didn't. Everything went fine until Santa and the children and a chair was placed next to Santa for the children. There goes the Hollywood PC Police sticking their noses into Christmas. That was when I turned it off. I'm sure it was meant well but please keep your PC out of Christmas.
Disappointed
Despite the talents of Megan Hilty and June Squibb this Hallmark movie fell flat. I was very bored and it provided only a background to things that demanded my attention more like dinner and Words With Friends. Didn't even put it on pause.
