• Popular, But Totally Anti-Science

  First off, you have to take a look at who produced this fiction. Though labeled as a "documentary", it is far from that. The producer - Gary Null - is an anti-science, anti-GMO, anti-vaccine conspiracy theorist. He has made other claims such as "HIV does not cause AIDS". It is worth pointing out that Gary Null was almost killed by using one of his own supplements that he sells. The movie presents a host of "experts" - all of the ones that I checked out are as reliable as Gary himself, making a business out of quack products and fear mongering. The movie itself is filled with misinformation, exaggerations, outright lies, and conspiracy theories. I am not going to bother refuting all the scientific and factual errors in the movie - others (some on YouTube) have already done this. My advice is to take the contents of this movie with a huge grain of salt and a lot of skepticism.

  Produced by the AIDS denying conspiracy theorist Gary Null. Just hearing that should spark some skepticism towards this movie. There are so many factually incorrect statements in this documentary it's impossible to go through them all. A clear case of Gish Gallop, the technique of drowning an opponent in so many lies and logical fallacies that it's going to take a whole book just to refute them. I recommend everyone to remain skeptical and check almost every statement in this movie. There is no reason to oppose GMO's based on the supposed health issues because there are none as any complete review of the scientific literature demonstrates In fact most researchers against GMO's have routinely had an agenda and misrepresented their studies for selfish gains. And when it comes to Monsanto they're no worse than your average corporation and they have just become the icon of corporate evil. Yet most of the claims about them are just outright false. As for environmental concerns, it varies greatly between climates and in some cases GM crops are better for environment. It really depends on a number of factors. The largest problem however is monoculture in general and not GM crops. Although GM crops do pose solutions for this and Monsanto did as well, but... • There are many great films on this topic, this one may be the worst

  I am a huge fan of documentary film making. I watch as many documentaries as I can. I am also a biologist, and am already on side against genetic engineering of plants/animals and patenting of life and the general nasty attitudes of the chemical companies who have a stranglehold on our food production systems. So when people say "preaching to the choir" I am indeed a member of that choir. So why did I hate this film? I am a fact seeker, I am looking for solid information, backed up by evidence. I find hysterics and badmouthing for the sake of badmouthing to be a turn-off in the documentary medium. This film's first 20 minutes have several talking heads, each and every one of them delivering hysterics, no facts, no plan, no content, just a bunch of crazy flapping lips. This kind of documentary does a disservice to healthy food politics. It's a real shame. The horrible cinematography and the choice of flapping hysterical lips was so so irritating that I had to shut it down. If it's horrible for the choir, imagine how unconvincing it is to those who need convincing!

  Hi all There is nothing more serious to me than altering our food regardless the evidence it is not natural and we will soon see the devastating proof of this. Big corporate/ money/genetically modified/ science just spells chaos if you have some intelligence. MONSANTO has already reached their goal GAME OVER their corrupt seed is all ready spread throughout the world and if it is not in your country they will soon sneak it in... The damage is irreversible... the worst image you have in your mind of a sick poor devastating country will soon be normal across the world. Rome was not build in one day but destroyed in one day! If you want to destroy nature and people it's not that hard we are not in control and never were. Help spread the word and try and plant open pollinated seed and start being independent do your best and God will do the rest. And watch 3ABN they predicted it all it's only going to get worse but a very few are prepared.   "This is documentary on genetic manipulation is drivel. Preaching to the choir. " Henry folded his arms. A clear sign of his deviance. "You stopped watching after ten minutes." Kristl said with a thin smile. "In those ten minutes I had not seen one shred of evidence, but I did see the seal of the president displayed over two people shaking hands and exchanging money while a voice over laid down accusations of bribery and corruption. Twice the companies were directly connected to agent orange while a Vietnam type movie showed a plane dropping bombs. The word contamination was repeated as much as possible, so we wouldn't miss the word 'contamination'. Contamination! Contamination! It was hammered in drivel clearly aimed at the gut. I had seen enough." "There is a kind of truth in that. They started to show evidence around the fifteen minute mark. And actually I think the rest of the documentary sort of invoked worry a with me. Not that I was convinced as the movie was so obvious one sided. But you know. I got the feeling it would be wise if there was some investigation into all of this. Just to be sure." "Duh." "This is the main problem with this documentary. It is not an objective documentary, but it is a case for the prosecution. And it is so obvious biased that you start to doubt it's message. You feel there might be something wrong with genetic manipulation, but it the movie is like the answer you get when you ask a religious fanatic to give an honest opinion on what is the best religion in the world." The documentary seems to be aimed at convincing the ones who are already convinced and it puts off any anyone who has yet to be convinced. It fails especially in the first ten minutes were they fling accusations of bribery and corruption around without backing them up with evidence. And they also fail by delaying to show people whom we would can connect with. Like farmers. There are some at the end of the movie, but that means you have to sit through an hour of watching people in suits and such talking about how bad these are companies are." "So you agree with me!" "Well, a one sided message doesn't have to be a wrong message. If they had just stuck to the facts and only showed the possible dangers of genetic manipulation and the lack of the government to take action, it would have been a better movie..." "And much shorter one." Henry remarked. "And that might not have been too bad, most people seem to have a short attention span." Kristl smiled, "About ten minutes or so." "Tolerating ten minutes of nonsense is not a short attention span in my book. It means I am bonkers and should have stopped watching after five minutes!" "I wonder if you had not stopped before you even began." Kristl suggested. "No." Henry shook his head. "Proof it." "The title was cool. Otherwise I wouldn't have watched it at all." "I believe you."
